DEPARTURE TIME FROM GRAFTON WILL BE 9:00 PM.

1.                    Before you pack, check the weather for Orlando at weather.com to help you know what kind of clothes to pack.

2.                    When you pack, make sure that you have black socks and your concert band shoes.

3.                    Make sure that the swimwear, towel and shoes that you need for Wet n’ Wild are packed into your carry on luggage on the bus.  We WILL NOT unload the luggage bays for you to get what you need for the water park.

4.                    Carry ons items are listed as one small bag, pillow, smaller cooler and a blanket.

5.                    There will be no boom boxes or guitars allowed on the buses. You may take these items, but they are to be stored underneath the bus.

6.                    All Concert Band instruments MUST be in the band room on Thursday morning IF you want them loaded onto the trailer.  There will be a designated area to put your instrument in to be loaded onto the trailer.   Your concert band uniform is due at school by Thursday, March 20.  THE TRUCK WILL BE GONE BY THE TIME THAT YOU ARRIVE AT SCHOOL TUESDAY NIGHT.  Any instruments or uniforms that are not in the band room by March 25 (Tuesday 10:00am) will not go on the trailer!

7.                    When you arrive at Grafton, there will be orange cones marking the 4 bus loading areas.  These cones will be placed in the parking area beside the band room.  Please place your luggage for your bus in these designated spots.  Your carry on will go with you in the band room.

8.                    After you drop off your carry on bag in the band room, you need get your instrument(s) (if they are not already loaded on the truck).  Instruments need to go outside and be placed in your bus loading area.  They will go underneath the buses.

SPRING TRIP BEHAVIOR REMINDERS

  1. Your behavior in the hotel is still a reflection of the group.  Remember to act accordingly.
  2. Concert etiquette at the performance site is a MUST.  I see groups every weekend that cannot behave while other groups (their own school even!) are performing.  There should be no sleeping, talking, cell phone or personal gameboy use (or any other gaming system).  The performances are why we are allowed to go on these trips. We all should act professionally for the entire performance.  Students should stay dressed in their concert uniform until they are told by a DIRECTOR to change out of uniform.  Be polite and respectful to the staff at the school as well as the judges.  Make them rave about the behavior of the Grafton High School Band.  You know that we take pride in your behavior just as much as we take pride in your performance. Help police other students around you.
  3. When you are in Orlando, you should NEVER walk alone.  Always travel in groups around the parks.  Please don’t leave the designated areas that are set aside for the day.  Listen for instructions and where to meet and at what time. Do not make the group wait on you.
  4. I have not had to send anyone home from a trip in 12 years.  Do not be the first.  Infractions that will get you sent home early are:  Alcohol, Drugs or Drug Paraphernalia, Tobacco use, Shoplifting, or Breaking curfew and sexual relations……..
  5. Think before you act.  If what you are about to do or say is not for the good of the group, DON’T DO IT!!
  6. At the awards ceremony, show class and pride in your band and organization.  No booing or taunting should happen for any reason.  Please do not talk while other awards are given out in other classifications.
